NOTES FROM THE CHURCH OFFICE:
VBS: We urgently need 5-6 adult volunteers for VBS this summer. Without enough adults to help, we may have to cancel VBS this year. If you are able to help, please let us know as soon as possible. VBS is such an important part of our ministry for kids and community, and we can't do it without your help. Please prayerfully consider volunteering!
Sunday school will meet in classrooms this week. The following week, the 17th, is our last Sunday School for the school year. We will meet in classrooms and then come together for a small closing ceremony.

A good gift plan within an estate includes inheritance for family and gifts to ministry. Some might consider this a difficult task. How does an LCMS Foundation Gift Planning Counselor help? Working on your estate can be complicated as you balance legal, tax and financial issues, along with your desires to care for family and support ministry. Your LCMS Foundation Associate Gift Planning Counselor has tools to organize all these things. Contact Ray Pagels at [email protected] or his cell 847.226.2262.

FOOD PANTRY UPDATE: 184 households visited the St Paul of the Cross food pantry in March. Most needed items are paper towels, cooking oil (vegetable, canola or olive), ketchup and mac and cheese. Thank you for your continuing support!
MISSION OF THE MONTH: Our May Mission of the Month is our synod's chaplaincy program, the LCMS Ministry to the Armed Forces. The LCMS chaplaincy motto is "Serving those who serve." All LCMS chaplains are ordained pastors who support and serve members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, military reserves, National Guard, Civil Air Patrol, and military academies. The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod cares deeply for those who serve in all of our country's military units.

A Message from Pastor
It's Mother's Day weekend! We thank God for the gift of Mothers and all the ways our Moms teach us about the love of Jesus. My own mom told me about the love of Jesus, and showed me what the love of Jesus looked like, both in how she treated me and treated other people. I am so grateful for her! Today we give thanks for Moms and for all the women in our lives who share the love of Jesus and teach us what it means to follow Him! In Christ,

The Law of the Lord is Perfect
Pastor Matt takes us through Psalm 19 and connects it to Matthew 5:17-20. In the Gospel we learn how much Jesus values the Law of God, and in the Psalms we learn that even the Cosmos gives evidence to God's order, laws, and rules. God's Law is perfect, and if we open our eyes, we get to see it at …
