GIFT PLANNING: A good gift plan within an estate includes inheritance for family and gifts to ministry. Sometimes the family side of things can be a bit tricky to plan. Should you let your family members know the details of your gift plan from your estate, for family and ministry? It depends on many circumstances. But if possible, it is a wonderful thing to draw family members in at the time of planning, to celebrate God’s blessings together and to inform family members of your intentions so that they can do their part of honoring those intentions. Your LCMS Foundation Associate Gift Planning Counselor can assist you in those conversations. Contact Ray Pagels at his cell 847-226-2262 or [email protected]
FOOD PANTRY UPDATE: 184 households visited the St Paul of the Cross food pantry in March. Most needed items are paper towels, cooking oil (vegetable, canola or olive), ketchup and mac and cheese. Thank you for your continuing support!
MISSION OF THE MONTH: LCMS Ministry to the Armed Forces. The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod first began bringing the Gospel to people in the military during the Civil War when pastors volunteered to reach out to soldiers in nearby combat areas. In 1917, the LCMS chaplaincy was formed; the program was then called the Army and Navy Commission. In 1948, the LCMS chaplaincy was renamed the Armed Services Commission. Today, our church body’s chaplaincy program is called the Ministry to the Armed Forces, providing hundreds of chaplains to all of our country’s armed services.

The Law of the Lord is Perfect
Pastor Matt takes us through Psalm 19 and connects it to Matthew 5:17-20. In the Gospel we learn how much Jesus values the Law of God, and in the Psalms we learn that even the Cosmos gives evidence to God's order, laws, and rules. God's Law is perfect, and if we open our eyes, we get to see it at …
